Memory Care is a newer and commonly misunderstood segment of the Assisted Living umbrella. Memory Care continues to carry most of the residential facets that our Assisted Living residents enjoy, with similar independence and choices, but located in a purpose-built secure unit.
Probably the single most asked question about Memory Care is "is my loved one appropriate?" While that's a short question, it has an extremely complex answer. In short, memory care is appropriate for a wide spectrum of cognitively impaired people, ranging from mild forgetfulness where safety could become an issue, to people with advanced dementia. Our memory care facilities consist of specially designed living spaces and supportive environments for those living with cognitive challenges brought on by Alzheimer's and dementia. These designs include delicately considered flooring to reduce problematic patterns and specialized wall colors for easy navigation.
Areas of the community are set up for safe engagement during activities such as gardening, kitchen work, and independently focused activities that provide purposeful and meaningful moments. We have two separate unique Memory Care wings to best serve our residents.
